The Lowdown On Profhilo

Profhilo is one of our favourite treatments here at Cosmetier, partly owing to its myriad of benefits, but also because it’s a straightforward procedure with little in the way of downtime or side-effects – so it doesn’t get in the way of you living your life.

Our skin doctors love its transformative power, with the treatment essentially ‘remodelling’ skin and enhancing tone and texture, while hydrating and rejuvenating. Incredibly, it can even be used as an alternative to dermal fillers. Here’s a bit more about the treatment.

How does the treatment work?

Profhilo uses injections of super-hydrating hyaluronic acid to spread through the skin and balance tone and texture, while enhancing the elasticity of the skin. While most choose to have Profhilo fillers on the facial area, it can also be used on the hands, arms, neck and décolletage.

How effective is the treatment?

You could see results immediately, though in some cases, Profhilo takes a number of weeks to fully work its magic, and results last for months. Benefits include a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, and thanks to its ability to boost collagen production, your skin is likely to appear tighter and smoother, too.

How many treatments are required?

Often, a treatment course can enable you to get the best possible results – so talk to our skin doctors about what’s recommended for your unique skin. You may also require top-ups to prolong results. Generally speaking, we advise on a couple of appointments around a month apart.

What about side-effects?

Because Profhilo filler relies on hyaluronic acid – which is naturally produced in the body – there are far fewer side-effects when compared to other treatments.

Is the treatment right for me?

A consultation with our skin doctors will always help decide if a treatment is recommended for your skin, however we can share that many of our clients report firmer, plumper, more youthful skin following treatment. They love the tightening and rejuvenating effect of Profhilo, as well as its moisturising and hydrating properties.

What other options are there?

Our skin doctors offer a range of facial aesthetic treatments designed to refine skin, help combat signs of ageing and give you a boost to your confidence. Dermal fillers can offer similar plumping results as they also use hyaluronic acid, while anti-wrinkle treatments may be recommend if you’re looking to have smoother-looking skin. For a tightening effect, our skin doctors may suggest microneedilng, while another resurfacing treatment we can carry out is chemical peels.

Whatever you’re interested in, we can find out what will help target your concerns and give you results you’ll love during your consultation.
